Here it is, military green with a special logo. Its things like this that break up the shading/highlight routine of painting the same models over and over.

More sets ready to rock!
Here are 3 of the 4 sets finished! The heat here in the midwest has chased me back to a friends house, so one set didn't make the photo booth. I'll update this post when I go back to rescue it.
I'll likely go back and add a logo on the second ship, but for all intents and purposes these bad boys are ready to fly.

Base-coats down
Woot, 4 sets base-coated! Its been a little crazy with the heat here in the midwest, I actually had to move in w/ family for four days to avoid the 110 degrees my apartment would get to w/o AC. Now to just shade and highlight....

1st set down
Finished the first set of ships, which happen to be those that will end up on the back of the Disaster Looms! box and then sent to a lucky backer. The first of many, I had a lot of fun with these and am looking forward to the other unique requests!

Let the summer painting extravaganza begin!
And so it starts.
I've been crazy busy with two jobs and studying, and letting my hobbying/blogging slip because of it. I'm most frustrated with myself for not setting up the ebay sale of the Livestrong army yet, but I have had some contacts that may turn out to be more lucrative for the foundation, which is the ultimate goal. Time will tell.
Despite the minor set-backs, painting is about to become my new job with the successful finish to the Kickstarter project Disaster Looms! I am going to be painting 40 sets of custom ships as one of the rewards. I got the list of most of the requests for paint schemes, and they have blown me away. With everything from green to psychedelic peppermint, its going to be quite the project. I will be sure to update as I finish them, and since I have a timeline, I actually have to do them haha. Hopefully the backers will be checking in here to see if they can spot their requests (if you do, please leave a comment!). Here are some shots of ships that will likely pop up soon on the website. If you missed the Kickstarter, you can now grab the game and its accouterments at their new website.
In the mean time, here is part of my most recent project. We started a Journeyman League for Warmachine at our local game store, and I went with the Menoth half of the 2-player starter set. I really like how the split color theme worked out, and I'm looking forward to sneaking in a model or two before the big wave of ships arrive next week.

Fellcaller
Moving right along from the Cygnar, I finally started to get back to my Trollbloods. I was able to lavish some attention on my Fellcaller, trying some new techniques. His back torch-thing is my first attempt at marble, which was fun, as well as flame and pushing my metal shading. The swords were shaded w/ the technique I learned at Mathieu Fontaine's painting class, and I'm pleased with how its progressing. I know I learn by doing, so I'm just going to go at it on many models (just not full units yet, recipe for insanity). I still need to figure out what I'm going to do for their basing, as the blank black circles just look bad : (
Still getting the Ebay page set-up, running it by some people for review to make sure I haven't forgotten anything obvious. I'll start sending out the word when everything is ready.
